What is AI search optimization (AIO/GEO)?

AI search optimization is the practice of structuring your brand, content, and technical assets to be surfaced and cited by AI-driven discovery platforms: Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity. It also goes by Generative Engine Optimization (GEO). The goal is to be the answer, not just a result.
